Who Is Jesus?
Who is Jesus? This single question has kep people talking and debating for centuries. Without question He was the most influential man Who ever lived, but was he more than just an influential man? Was He more than just a great teacher?
Jesus is the Song of God. (Matthew 16:16) He came to earth as a man. He was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit in Mary, a virgin. (Matthew 1:20) Consequently, Jesus was born without sin, and therefore, He was the only One capable to pay the penalty for our sin.
Jesus willingly lay down His life and was crucified. He was
beaten, spit on, whipped, mocked, and crowned with thorns.
Finally, He died. He did it to pay the price for the sin of
the whole world. (John 1:29, 3:16) He was buried, and three days
later, He rose again bodily, and He is still alive today, sitting at
God's right side and interceding for all believers.
(I Timothy 2:5)
Jesus had one basic message: He is the only way to Heaven. In John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." At face value that may seem extremely exclusive, but Jesus didn't come to build a little fan club. he came for the benefit of the whole world. Perhaps the most familiar verse in all of the Bible is John 3:16. It says simply, "For God so loved the wolrd, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Christ's gift of salvation is available to anyone who wants it. You just need to come God's way, by simple faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
