What Happens after Death?

It has been said that there are two things certain in life, death and taxes.  God said it this way, “…it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews 9:27)  If you are reading this, you have an appointment that you cannot reschedule.  No amount of hair dye, botox, or plastic surgery will turn the clock back.  Death is inevitable.

The bigger question is “What happens after death?”  The judgment after death is based on one condition:  your response to Jesus Christ.  The Bible speaks of only two destinations.  There are not even hints at any other destinations.  Purgatory is a myth.  Soul-sleep is a myth.  Reincarnation is a myth.  Reality is either Heaven or Hell.

Both are real, literal places.  Real people are currently in each place.  Someday you will die and go to one place or the other.  There is no middle ground.  The good news is that you can choose where you spend eternity, but you must make that choice before you die.  Jesus said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  Believe in Jesus Christ alone and His work, nothing else, no one else, and you will have everlasting life.  Choose not to believe, and you will perish in Hell for eternity.  Choose carefully!  Eternity is a long time!
